Edwin is the star of the show, and everyone’s best friend; sharing smiles and kindness wherever he goes. He is a natural leader and problem solver with a jovial attitude.

When he encounters a problem, he exclaims “Let’s get quackin’!” and gets to work finding a solution.

Edwin teaches us to be better social problem solvers by setting a good example. Edwin likes detective stories and playing his banjolele. He’s afraid of heights and the dark, but he can conquer his fears with the help of his friends and a night light!

Louis is Edwin’s next door neighbor and best friend. He’s a few months older than his friends, and he takes his seniority seriously. Louis is patient and thinks before he speaks; he can always find a kind word to say. Louis is a dedicated musician, and what he can’t say in words he can express in music with his upright bass.

Louis teaches us patience and dedication. He knows better than anyone that you don’t become a great bassist overnight. It takes practice and hard work!

Louis loves music and a good game of chess. He doesn’t like bugs (especially fireflies!) and is allergic to peanuts. He hopes that someday he can be a world famous musician.

Amy loves to get outside and get moving. Everything for her is a game or contest, and every time she gets the mail or takes out the trash, she tries to beat her current time.

In addition to being speedy, she’s also incredibly strong. Amy can be a bit stubborn and bossy at times, and wants to take charge. She doesn’t react well to being told “no”.

Amy teaches us the importance of persistence and humility and that knowledge can come in many different forms.

Amy likes testing her limits and the thrill of competition. She can’t stand losing or being put in a situation where she’s powerless.

Ellie is Edwin’s little sister. She wants to follow in her brother’s webbed footsteps, and in her mind, he’s the ultimate role model. She wants to be just like him, and because of this she can be a bit of a copycat. Ellie is the definition of “kids say the darnedest things.” She sometimes speaks without thinking, and often times, these things are pretty funny.

Ellie teaches us the importance of family and finding yourself along with how to find humor in any situation.

Ellie loves her brother Edwin and driving her toy Jeep around West Creek. She painted “hot rod flames” on the side of her Jeep because she felt that it was too girly for her. Her biggest fear is being left out.

Keely is West Creek’s resident junior scientist. She’s a bookworm and lives above the local bookstore.

Keely excels at science, math, and other STEM topics. She lacks in creativity, and focuses more on science and less on pretend.

Keely teaches us knowledge is power, and there is always more to learn. Keely likes having a plan and doing things step by step. She gets frustrated when things don’t go according to plan, but keeps her cool when things get chaotic.

Keely is kept company by her little dog Pooka. Pooka is a fluffy ball of energy, and loves spinning around in circles.

Kirk has a snout for news. He loves reporting what’s going on around West Creek and is usually seen in his red news wagon with his trademark microphone. Kirk can sometimes be oblivious, both to what’s going on around him and how his actions affect others.

Kirk teaches us the importance of speaking out, but also the importance of being observant.

When he’s KIRK BAYKIN: PIG REPORTER, Kirk is fearless and unflappable. But, when he’s without his hat and microphone, he shies away from the spotlight.

Buff is the biggest, baddest dude in town. He takes without asking, disregards others, and isn’t afraid to throw his weight around. He doesn’t get along well with his cousin Edwin, or most of the other kids in town. Buff has a tough exterior, but is a big softie at heart and wishes he had as many friends as Edwin.

Buff teaches us how to deal with bullies but also not to judge a book by its cover.

Buff likes looking his best and impressing others. He doesn’t want to be seen as weak, so he hides his softer side, including his love of figure skating and dancing.

Guillaume is the new kid in West Creek, who has recently moved from Quebec. Buff was Guillaume’s first friend, so Guillaume sticks to him like glue in all their escapades.

Guillaume is sweet and trusting. He happily does as he’s told, and serves as Buff’s yes-man. Guillaume is caring and sees the value in everyone, especially his amazing buddy, Buff.

Guillaume teaches us to see the value in others and the fun of having friends from other cultures.

Guillaume likes spending time with Buff and meeting new people. Since English is Guillaume’s second language, he sometimes misunderstands what his friends say.

Mac the mouse is an underground explorer. West Creek is connected by Mac’s series of elaborate tunnels and mouse holes that show up in homes around town. Mac is great at turning thoughts into actions, and jumps at the challenge to make something out of seemingly nothing.

Mac teaches us creativity and ingenuity. 

Mac likes having a project to work on, and lights the way with his headlamp when on adventures with his friends. Even though Mac is the smallest of Edwin’s friends, he hates being called “little.”
